I remember the precise moment that I got that feeling. You know the one I’m talking about, right? That feeling of disconnect, an indescribable pull in another direction, a gut-wrenching realization that you’re not in the right place.
It was a Wednesday afternoon at the office where I worked as an event planner. I was sitting in my tiny cubicle, eyes growing blurrier by the second, staring at a bunch of numbers on an excel spreadsheet.
I threw my head in my hands and heard the voice inside my head scream, “I just can’t do this anymore!!!”
But just as soon as I acknowledged this unsettling voice, I whisked it away and resisted it because of all the time, money and energy I had already invested in pursuing this path.
As the months went on though, I just couldn’t ignore that voice any longer.
I had lost count of how many times I had come home, crying to my husband (then fiancé), wanting so desperately to be doing something that didn’t steal my spirit and joy every single day.
I always knew that the regular 9-5 job didn’t look good on me. I had this deep desire for more freedom and the creative space to build my own dreams instead of the dreams of others. I desperately wanted to feel that alignment again and to re-connect with my core purpose.
So I started exploring entrepreneurship in January 2014 and officially began building my coaching business. While my background in planning certainly helped with my business strategy and organization, my execution was definitely a little rockier than I had anticipated.
After wasting a ton of time spinning my wheels, signing up for what seemed like a million free opt-ins (#coursejunkie), my coaching business was becoming more of an expensive hobby than anything else. I wasn’t getting any closer to leaving my dreadful 9-5 job or

saying sayonara to my unfulfilling conventional lifestyle. It was time to get some help and direction if I ever wanted to make this happen.
SO I MADE A FIERCE DECISION AND TOOK A GIANT LEAP OF FAITH.
I FINALLY HIRED MY OWN PRIVATE BUSINESS COACH.
I found someone who had exactly what I wanted. Someone who was living the life I dreamt of living, making the amount of money I desired to make and who had overcome the same challenges that I was currently facing.
This was probably the most scary – and at the same time – most exhilarating decision I had ever made. Financially it didn’t make sense; I was getting married in two months and had zero savings left to cover my coaching package. For the first time in my life, I dipped into my line of credit and put myself in debt.
BUT I BELIEVED IN MYSELF AND KNEW I WAS WORTH THE INVESTMENT.
After my first session with my coach, the weight I had been feeling for so long finally lifted. I got clear on my desires and figured out who I wanted to serve. I learned how to market my offers, build my list, create a standout brand and find my dream clients!
Two words: GAME CHANGER.
All of this is possible for you, too. There’s nothing special about me. All you need is a strong intention, unshakable belief and fierce action in doing whatever it takes. Deciding that there’s no other option.
Because this is your dream. And you CAN make it happen.
